Started doing interior work today. Removed some of the stock Ford items (big plastic electrical channels, protective foam bulkheads, clips, cargo area lighting, etc.) to make it easier to build inside. Also got some more precise measurements to layout the washroom and refrigerator cabinet so we have a feeling for space. They say "the van never lies" so being in the actual space is different from planning on paper. The roof rack also went on today so tomorrow I can plan out the solar panels and Maxxair fans.

Holy cow, maybe we (I - Calvin) have bitten off more than we can chew but we picked up Redford from the Maple Ridge Ford dealership today! It's a bright red van for sure. Did some poking and checking around today after we came home. Tomorrow I plan to install the roof rack.

AuthorCalvin here - after spending almost 33 years in education as a high school teacher, elementary teacher, and elementary administrator, it was time to retire! I did so happily and with no regrets; it was a terrific and fulfilling career. I do enjoy building projects as the design and building process is very therapeutic and you see a completed functional product in the end. Now to combine the build with another of Angela's and my passions - travel - is something we're really looking forward to. Archives
